While every effort will be made to provide similar services at each site, the combination of services each client receives may affect whether they need to visit more than one Strides Toronto location to access service. Please speak to your primary worker or their supervisor if this causes any challenges.

Both locations are wheelchair and stroller accessible and have large, welcoming reception areas. The sites will also offer one or more gender-neutral washrooms in addition to offering universal washrooms (which offer barrier-free access to everyone, including people who use wheelchairs). Consilium Place, located near Scarborough Town Centre, will also have a free shuttle bus that runs every 15 minutes between the mall and the office. In the lobby of Consilium Place, there is a place to purchase coffee and food with a large seating area and outdoor gardens in nice weather. The Eglinton location is situated next to many dining and shopping options. It is also located next to the new Golden Mile crosstown LRT stop, which is set to open soon.

Our larger and more welcoming spaces are located in two different areas in East Toronto, making them more accessible to our clients and families as well as residents in the community. The new facilities are accessible by TTC and the diverse communities and neighbourhoods nearby.

The increased space in the new facilities will enable us to enhance client services and meet the community’s varied needs through the co-location of a broader range of services. By co-locating more services at each location, we will support a more seamless client and family experience while also allowing for the development of age-specific service hubs (e.g. a greater focus on children’s services at 1940 Eglinton Avenue East and a greater focus on youth services at 100 Consilium Place).

Your current services will remain unchanged as a result of the move. However, with larger spaces and co-located programs, we are confident your experience will be enhanced through the integration of services at the new locations.

Please ask your primary worker at Strides for the new location of your program or service.

The construction of the new spaces and moves are being funded through a combination of contributions from landlords, a variety of government funders and donations to Strides Toronto. We are grateful to the Ministry of Health; the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services; Youth Wellness Hubs Ontario; our landlord partners and donors for supporting these transformational projects.

Strides Toronto will do its best to minimize service disruption during the move. Any anticipated or planned interruption will be communicated to clients and families with reasonable notice in advance of the disruption.

There are currently no plans to move the other existing Strides Toronto locations.

If you have any questions, please speak to your worker or your program contact, and they will share your questions with the space planning team if they are unable to provide you with an answer.
